October is Principal Appreciation Month, and we are honoring Principal Jean-Baptiste, who makes our classrooms places of joy and rigorous learning, so that every learner has what they need to truly thrive in school and beyond. 

Principal Jean-Baptiste’s bold vision and determination are transforming what is possible for learners at CICS Longwood Elementary. Principal Jean-Baptiste pairs hard work with "heart work" toward building a premier academic hub on the South Side of Chicago. By launching our reimagined Learner Profiles, she empowers students to take ownership of their unique learning journeys and confidently lead their own Family Conferences. Paired with ELA growth gains this past year, after-school tutoring, restorative justice practices, and middle school counseling partnerships, she holds a high bar so that every student has the tools to achieve their dreams.
